Amazon’s Fire TV has surpassed 40 million active users globally, the company has announced.
This marks an eight per cent increase from September 2019 when 37 million viewers used the device.
The milestone maintains the service’s lead over its rival Roku, which reported 32.3 million active accounts in November 2019.
The company also unveiled a Fire TV Edition soundbar featuring Dolby Atmos support, compatible device control, HDMI switching and far-field voice control.
Amazon Fire TV VP Marc Whitten said: “Our expanded Fire TV Edition programme provides companies with the services and tools they need to bring Fire TV to more categories and more screens.”
