Altice, Netflix pact for France and Portugal

Content will be available in France from tomorrow

Altice has partnered with Netflix to carry the SVoD platform’s content in France, Portugal, Israel and the Dominican Republic.

France will be the first territory to launch the deal, beginning tomorrow, with the other territories rolling out content through the rest of the year. The content will be available via various devices.

Since the UK launch of Netflix on Virgin Media in 2013, the company has struck integration deals with more pay-TV operators as analysts have said such agreements seem to have benefited both sides.

“With this global partnership and thanks to more than 1,000 hours of new original Netflix content slated for 2017, Altice’s customers will be able to seamlessly access and enjoy all the best entertainment in one place,” said Netflix CEO Reed Hastings.

Altice CEO Michel Combes added: “We are thrilled to launch our global partnership with Netflix. Our content centric experience strategy is to expand our commitment to provide the best content to our customers combining Netflix service into Altice customer’s life is making both more attractive.”
