Viz Mosart adds live IP support, NewTek introduces Spark Plus IO converters and more

TVBEurope rounds up today's technology stories

Vizrt has released a major update to Viz Mosart, adding live IP video support directly within the touch-based user interface.

Viz Mosart 4 allows anyone within an organisation to execute a pre-built show, reducing dependencies on limited resources, from a variety of locations.

The new graphics panel grants access to all Vizrt graphics, with template organisation capability reducing the time spent on creation and maintenance of automation templates.

Vizrt Group R&D president Dr Andrew Cross said: “Our mission has always been to build software tools that make it easier to produce a complex show and allows producers to focus on great content instead of the technology.

“Version 4 of Viz Mosart represents one of the greatest improvements in years and is designed to make it easier to build and run a show whether that is from a control room or within the newsroom itself.

“By combining all functions needed into a single, touch-based interface, you get to set up and run a show in the way you want, from where you want.”

NewTek adds Spark Plus IO converters

Meanwhile, Vizrt-owned NewTek has added two new Spark Plus IO converters to its lineup, said to simplify the encoding or decoding of video for use in an IP-based workflow through NDI.

The new Spark Plus IO 4K delivers high-bandwidth NDI at full 60p for the lowest latency and highest quality in and out over IP.

The Spark Plus IO SDI encodes or decodes at rates up 1080p 60 NDI for 3G-SDI environments without disrupting the existing traditional SDI video infrastructure.

“NewTek and the Vizrt Group make it our mission to help people tell their stories, faster and easier, without compromise. The new Spark Plus IO devices continue to fulfill that promise,” said Cross. “The move to video production over IP is well underway and products like the new Spark Plus IO help bridge the gap between the old and the new.”

Imagen extends PA partnership

Imagen has extended its long-term relationship with PA Media (PA) to upgrade and enhance its video portal.

The upgraded portal now features a new partner area, allowing PA to host and label third-party content alongside the news agency’s own editorial output.

The enhanced search functionality and metadata display enable PA customers to surface relevant content from the catalogue of newsroom-ready, customer-ready and partner content.

Improved analytics functions from Imagen also allow the agency to track how customers are accessing and using content from the video portal by surfacing search records and user journeys.

PA Media head of video Joe Pickover said: “The Imagen platform has been invaluable to us over the years. This latest project has ensured that PA’s video portal continues to reflect our brand and support the way our customers consume our content.”
