TaTaTu to release new documentary on blockchain

Friedkin Uncut will be streamed exclusively on the platform in the UK and US

Social entertainment platform TaTaTu is to release the Francesco Zippel documentary Friedkin Uncut on blockchain in the UK and US.

The company, which co-produced the feature about William Friedkin, director of The French Connection and The Exorcist, will stream the film exclusively ahead of its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival.

The doc features stars such as Francis Ford Coppola, Quentin Tarantino, Wes Anderson, Damien Chazelle and Michael Shannon talking about the cult director, and includes footage of Friedkin discussing about his journey to becoming one of the most influential directors of his generation.

TaTaTu, an online platform that uses blockchain technology to reward its users for watching and sharing content, was launched in May and is still in its beta phase.

Funded projects that TaTaTu has in development include a film adaptation of J.M. Coetzee’s novel Waiting for the Barbarians, a Lamborghini biopic starring Antonio Banderas and Alec Baldwin, and drama The Sound of Freedom with Jim Caviezel and Mira Sorvino.
