Feelreal has announced the impending release of the world’s first multi-sensory VR mask, which includes the ability to smell scents within a VR headset.
The mask contains a scent generator that can hold up to nine aroma capsules. Users can choose from 255 different scents, including lavender, burning rubber and gunpowder.
Other tactile sensations simulated by the mask include water mist, heat, wind and vibration.
As well as gaming and watching films (360-degree or other supported videos), users can also view free VR experiences called Feelreal Dreams featuring the use of the mask’s sensory capabilities.
The olfactory technology can also be incorporated into meditation and aromatherapy exercises.
