Pixit Media opens new UK testing facility

Allows customers to experience Pixit Media’s storage and data management solutions for broadcast, media production, post production and VFX

Software-defined infrastructure company Pixit Media has opened an all-new demonstration, training and testing facility based in High Wycombe, UK.

The Pixit Media Lab aims to provide a real-world environment where customers can experience Pixit Media’s storage and data management solutions for broadcast, media production, post production and VFX, including Cloud and remote collaborative capabilities.

“The Pixit Lab is part of our ongoing investment into our customers and our technology,” said Pixit Media’s chief innovation officer and co-founder Barry Evans. “The journey to change can be disruptive and resources limited, so we’ve created a space where our customers can experience our software-defined solutions in a fully integrated infrastructure – enabling them to test and collaborate with us; to minimise risk and deliver competitive advantage.”

Technology showcased in the Lab includes Baselight, Resolve, Flame, Adobe, Avid, NetApp, Dell, Islion and Excelero – all supporting a wide range of contexts and workflows and integrating with AWS, Azure and Google Cloud. Secure remote access is provided by IPsec tunnels to client sites, with multi-tenanting and containerised storage.

Meanwhile, Pixit has also announced the appointments of David Sallak as chief technology officer and Chris Horn as chief operating officer.
