Haivision partners with Avid, Telestream, Wowza on broadcast Cloud service

Haivision SRT Hub is a low-latency media routing service built on Microsoft Azure

Video streaming solutions company Haivision has announced the launch of its SRT Hub Software Development Kit, as well as the SRT Hub Partner Programme.

Haivision SRT Hub is described as an intelligent low-latency media routing service built on Microsoft Azure that connects edge devices and systems with Cloud resources regardless of geographic location. According to the company, SRT Hub enables broadcasters to take advantage of best-in-class multi-vendor Cloud products to build out customised media contribution, production, distribution, and delivery workflows.

The SRT Hub Partner Programme, supporting third-party vendor integration with the SRT Hub SDK, provides a framework to develop input, output, and processing modules, called Hublets, that can extend the capabilities of SRT Hub. Initial SRT Hub integrations include products from Avid, Cinegy, Haivision, LightFlow, Microsoft, Telestream, and Wowza Media Systems.

“With Haivision SRT Hub, we’re creating an ecosystem that gives broadcasters a highly reliable, ultra low-latency Cloud-based workflow to send their content throughout their connected broadcast systems,” said Peter Maag, CMO, Haivision. “We’re bringing some of the leading systems together to make these workflows more efficient and we’re looking forward to developing new broadcast workflows for the future.”
