Deltatre’s AXIS powers BritBox across all platforms

Quickest timeframe Deltatre has ever brought service on BritBox's scale to market

Deltatre’s AXIS UX management platform has powered the launch of new streaming service BritBox across all major platforms, including web, mobile and connected TVs.

AXIS enables non-technical editorial teams to take control of all touchpoints in a video service that subscribers can see and interact with – including design, navigation, promotions and content, without touching any code.

According to Deltatre, a particular focus during development was given to how content is surfaced to the end-user in order to maximise engagement and retention. This included the roll-out of an actor search as well as features which enable users to easily navigate and find new releases.

Work on the development of BritBox began in January, with the streamer launched in beta in October. According to Deltatre, that is the quickest timeframe the company has ever brought to market a service on this scale.

Deltatre will continue to work alongside BritBox as the platform continues to evolve and grow, with plans to implement new features such as offline downloads in the near future.

Ron Downey, president, OTT Division at Deltatre, said: “BritBox is an example of how broadcasters can maximise the value of their rights and reach audiences in new and exciting ways. We were honoured to be recognised as the right partner to deliver a targeted user experience platform and suite of leading user applications in a short timeframe. With positive initial reviews of the service, we’re now looking to our future relationship, helping BritBox provide users with an engaging and enjoyable viewing experience.”
