Limecraft has announced it has been officially recognised as carbon neutral.
The media technology company consulted with an external advisor to measure its 2023 fiscal year carbon footprint at 132.8 metric tons carbon dioxide equivalent, using the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) protocol standard. The measurement took both direct and indirect emissions into account.
Working with GoForest, a Belgian company which facilitates carbon offsetting through a process of global tree-planting, Limecraft has been able to fully offset its emissions, becoming verifiably carbon neutral. said the company.
Commenting on the achievement, Limecraft’s co-founder, Maarten Verwaest, said, “The broadcast-related media industry is focusing ever more strongly on environmental and sustainability issues as vendors and customers alike seek to minimise their environmental impact. We have already made some important changes to our own supply chain, including the company’s energy consumption.
“Our intention now is to reduce our emissions by a further 30 per cent in 2026 despite an estimated business expansion rate of over 40 per cent per year. We will achieve this through greater operational efficiency in terms of business travel optimisation, increased collaboration with sustainable cloud providers and a much more rigorous relationship with our own suppliers. Limecraft has always taken its environmental and sustainability responsibilities very seriously and we are committed to improving our carbon neutrality policies wherever possible.”
