ZDF adds Autoscript units to Mainz Facility

Germany’s national public television broadcaster ZDF has purchased four Enhanced Prompting Information Centre (E.P.I.C) units, as part of its Mainz studio’s upgrade to HD.

Germany’s national public television broadcaster ZDF has purchased four Enhanced Prompting Information Centre (E.P.I.C) units, as part of its Mainz studio’s upgrade to HD.

The studio is making a transition to HD cameras, creating the need to display HD signals on a preview monitor. The E.P.I.C units will replace legacy prompting units, and will be installed this month to be used on a variety of programme genres.

“The E.P.I.C. offers the robustness, reliability and advanced functions that world-class broadcasters expect from Autoscript, with the additional benefits of reduced power consumption, simplified set-up and reduced weight.” Simon Clark, business development manager, prompters (EMEA and Asia), Autoscript, said: “We have enjoyed a long relationship with ZDF and are delighted that Germany’s national public broadcaster has chosen the E.P.I.C. units as it upgrades its Mainz studio.”

ZDF Mainz has used Autoscript teleprompters for many years, benefitting from integration with its Avid iNEWS system. Mainz chose the E.P.I.C units due to the combination of high-resolution prompter monitor and preview monitor, which are efficient in power consumption, space and set-up time.
