VITEC claims world’s first SxS XDCAM HD422 field deck recorder

Video solutions provider VITEC has claimed that its Focus FS-T2001 media recorder is the world's first dual SxS XDCAM HD422 field deck recorder dedicated to streamlining Sony XDCAM workflows.

Video solutions provider VITEC has claimed that its Focus FS-T2001 media recorder – revealed at IBC2012 – is the world’s first dual SxS XDCAM HD422 field deck recorder dedicated to streamlining Sony XDCAM workflows, and that major broadcasters are using this recorder worldwide. The Focus FS-T2001 is designed as a field deck for both recording and playback of XDCAM files. The product incorporates the complete range of Sony professional recording formats including 50Mbps MPEG HD422 and XDCAM EX/HD. FS-T2001 supports removable professional media: SxSPro, SxS-1 and SDHC cards. FS-T2001 also has 250GB of internal storage for either recording or management/storage. “VITEC worked closely with Sony Corporation in Japan and broadcasters worldwide during the development of Focus FS-T2001” said Richard Bernard, product manager of broadcast solutions for VITEC. “This next generation recorder expands Sony XDCAM workflow in a portable and flexible field solution.” FS-T2001 is also a versatile playback device with a complete set of features and outputs. The clip thumbnail menu makes it simple to find and playback recorded video clips.
