UltraLEDs has announced the launch of a new high-CRI lighting solution.
Featuring true-to-life colour rendering and uniform light quality, UltraLEDs’ precision LED Tape is designed to provide gaffers and lighting designers with reliable precision lighting for both permanent and on-location setups.
Aiming to ensure on-camera consistency and clarity, Precision LED Tape has a Colour Rendering Index (CRI) above 95 and high R9 values, enabling authentic colour reproduction across a wide range of light sources and eliminating washed-out or distorted hues.
The solution delivers up to 2,700 lumens per metre with a configuration of more than 240 LEDs per metre, producing a continuous line of light with no visible spotting. Even illuminations are ensured across surfaces and backdrops as well as in tight spaces such as when working behind diffusers and coves. Post production correction is minimised.
Every production batch is sourced from a single BIN to ensure variation remains below 3SDCM steps and visual hue differences between rolls are eliminated in large-scale and multi-set installs. Both IP20 and IP67 versions are available, allowing indoor and outdoor operation, and providing consistency in environments exposed to moisture and dust.
Dave Stirling, film and TV specialist at UltraLEDs, said, “Every detail of Precision LED tape was developed with working gaffers and TV electricians in mind. Consistency, colour accuracy, and reliability are prerequisites when you’re lighting for camera, and the quality of the shot will absolutely correlate to the standard of product selected. Our Precision tape was built to match these requirements perfectly, to ensure the same high-quality results across a wide range of film, TV and entertainment applications.”
