TVU Networks has agreed a deal with satellite and broadcast systems integrator Sat-Comm to deliver its IP-based live video uplink solutions to Sat-Comm customers.

Specialising in SNG vehicles, flyaways and OB systems, Sat-Comm will offer the TVU range to the broadcast and government sectors, including integration with broadcast vehicles.

Tim Williams, managing director of Sat-Comm, said, “The introduction of video over cellular data has drastically improved the way video content is transmitted, especially in news broadcasting which led us to follow TVU Network’s progression and prowess in other countries.

“We were particularly enamoured with TVU GRID, which enables broadcasters to bring all of their contribution feeds together for ease of internal distribution.

“All in all we feel that the current range of TVU solutions offers the best in terms of picture quality, size, weight, price and distribution, and we could not be happier to be working with them.”

The addition to Sat-Comm’s technical vehicles is designed to bolster Sat-Comm’s ability to offer its customers a suitable IP infrastructure allowing users to transmit, route, distribute and manage their footage with ease.

Paul Shen, CEO of TVU Networks (pictured), added, “Today’s broadcasters need flexible and cost-effective options for live video content acquisition, transmission, distribution and management. Integrating traditional satellite or microwave with cellular 4G/LTE in a OB van for live broadcast adds valuable flexibility and redundancy.

“I am thrilled that TVU Networks will help continue the quality service Sat-Comm provides to its customers.”
