TVLogic, designer and manufacturer of LCD and OLED displays, has launched two new 2D and 3D production and post production monitors.
”Our target is post production and film makers especially those using 3D projectors,” says TV Logic’s Charlie Shin. “They are passive 3D monitors which provide flicker-free and ghostless (no cross talk) pictures viewed with lightweight glasses. These basic features will greatly reduce the fatigue to the eyes over users of Active Shutter Glass type 3D monitors, especially when you have to work with the 3D pictures for a long time.”
The TDM-243W/473W comes in 24” and 47” 2D and passive 3D LCD panels and features a passive micro-polarizing filter attached to 1920×1080 LED backlit LCD panels working with passive circular polarizing 3D glasses.
Designed for broadcast OB, production, and post production environments, the TDM-243W/473W accepts a wide variety of SD and HD digital and analogue video formats. Additional features include horizontal flip, internal speaker (2W x 2), HDMI 1.4 support and a waveform/vectorscope.
“The TDM-243W will be the best solution for desk-top editing and the TDM-473W will be a good replacement for 3D projectors,” says Chin.
Both 3D monitors have two SDI and HDMI input terminals and two SDI Active Loop Through features, for flexibility.
”The products have a 3D LUT (Look-Up Table) specially calibrated for best colour performance,” says Chin. “Due to the colour characteristics of the LCD panel, various filters and glasses most 3D monitors show incorrect colours rather than standard colors. Our monitors will be calibrated to meet the standard by compensating all the factors that influence the output colour characteristics.”
The TDM-243W will retail for appx. $6,000 (24 inch, passive); the TDM-473W will be appx. $9,000 (47 inch, passive).
