TVBEurope is proud to announce a new strategic partnership with Ravensbourne that will see the university sector college’s students provide the official video content for TVBEurope events. The partnership launches at this month’s TVBEurope 2020 conference on 30 June, where camera crews from Ravensbourne will be on hand to record the day’s session for post-event coverage.
James McKeown, TVBEurope’s executive editor, explained that the alliance between the two organisations would prove to be of significant mutual benefit. “Wherever possible, I believe it’s important for media entities in our position to highlight the talent being nurtured at the grassroots level of our industry, and encourage more student and graduate interaction with industry events.
“By formulating a working relationship with Ravensbourne,” he explained, “we are able to provide a platform to showcase the abilities of the next generation of our industry, whilst championing the work being done by Ravensbourne itself. It has been a long-standing ambition of mine to facilitate this partnership, and I’m extremely excited to now be working in tandem with such a fine institution.”
Martyn Gates, course leader for broadcast technology at Ravensbourne, added, “We are delighted to partner with TVBEurope in a way that benefits our students by virtue of their exposure to high-level, thought leadership events directly related to their chosen field of study. It also benefits TVBEurope as our students are already technically sound and eager to apply the skills they’ve learned in a professional environment.
“TVBEurope’s 2020 event this month is the ideal way to expose our students to the most current strategic thinking of those with whom they may soon be professional colleagues and peers. Given the experience that can be gained from the partnership, it is my hope that participating Ravensbourne students may well be called upon deliver a keynote address themselves one day.”
