Sound engineers from Bang Post Production, based in Cardiff Bay, won the Sound: Fiction Award for BBC TV series Sherlock, A Scandal in Belgravia at the Television Craft Awards. Doug Sinclair, 52, who picked up the Award alongside John Mooney, Jeremy Child and Howard Bargoff, said he was extremely proud of the work he and the team at Bang had put in on the entire Sherlock series. He said: “We’ve worked on all three episodes of Sherlock which were aired on the BBC earlier this year. We’ve also done the previous Sherlock series and I can honestly say it’s an absolute pleasure to be involved with – there are wonderful people involved in every aspect of the production. Everyone who works on it is at the top of their game.” Doug set up the post production house with co-director Paul McFadden in 2006. Paul said: “This Award is the highlight of our career. For a small company like ours to win such a prestigious Award when we were up against the big boys of London is a fantastic honour.” Paul, 40, originally from Ynysybwl, added: “It really goes to show that Welsh firms can compete on a UK-wide basis. We have such a pool of talent here in South Wales – the whole Sherlock series was edited at BBC Wales – and we’re becoming such a hub for drama. “We are a small company but we’re a growing team with two staff members, Will Everett and Jon Joyce, who both played their part in this amazing BAFTA win. We hope if we continue to win big contracts we can continue to grow the company, recruiting from the pool of talent we have on our doorstep,” he added. www.bangpostproduction.com
