TV 2 Danmark gets HD studio upgrade from Danmon Systems Group

Danmon Systems Group has just completed the installation of a high definition news studio at the Odense HQ of Danish public television network TV 2|DANMARK.

Danmon Systems Group has just completed the installation of a high definition news studio at the Odense HQ of Danish public television network TV 2 Danmark.

“Upgrading the TV 2 news service from standard definition to high definition presented a logical opportunity to install a more visually attractive and versatile on-screen environment,” explained Kjeld Skovlund, head of Development at TV 2. “The new studio is located inside a large gallery with the main presentation sets at one end and the weather presentation area at the other. Camera facilities include three robotic pedestals and a Steadicam system.”

Daily news production is coordinated in the newsroom via an LSB Virtual Studio Manager and Mosart news automation system. “This gives our operators access to control panels, interfaces and external devices via an IP infrastructure linked to a VSM-Studio server. Mosart uses a template-based structure which provides the security and predictability essential for our news service,” added Skovlund.

The new installation features an 11m ultra-wide screen which can be used interactively, illuminated by Barco projectors.

“The project also involved construction of a separate control gallery to handle special events,” said Danmon Systems Group operations manager Søren Bruun. “Additional equipment installed includes a Grass Valley Kayenne vision mixer, two Studer Vista audio control desks, Miranda multiviewers, Gunterman & Drunk KVM systems, TC Electronic audio interfaces, Genelec stereo and surround-sound monitor loudspeakers, Miranda glue, plus Omneon and EVS studio servers.”
