TSL has been chosen by leading Czech Republic TV station, TV Nova, to provide systems integration for its new HD production and transmission facility based in Prague. TV Nova’s HD offering will launch in the summer of 2007 and will provide viewers in the Czech Republic with the first HD transmissions in the region.
The TV Nova installation follows a highly successful HD installation by TSL at ProTV in Romania; both channels are owned by Central European Media Enterprises (CME). TSL won the TV Nova HD contract following a tender process that was part of a structured programme of technology upgrades for the CME Group. The contract requirements detailed by TV Nova consist of a complete turnkey system that includes design, pre-build at TSL, onsite installation, training and commissioning.
Ivo Ferkl, technical director, TV Nova commented: “TSL is an extremely reliable company that delivers high-quality systems on time and within budget. We have had great success on previous projects and I am looking forward to working with the team again on this new facility for TV Nova.”
The project designed by TSL will include an HD studio and a fully scalable HD server-based playout facility for an initial two channels. The new facility will be equipped to a high technical specification including automation from Pebble Beach’s Neptune system, a Snell & Wilcox Kahuna production switcher ,and SeaChange Broadcast Media Library server.
