Thomson Video Networks unveiled its new ViBE VS7000 video system at the NAB show which is a fully integrated IP video solution for convergent applications such as Web TV and Over-The-Top (OTT) services delivery as well as traditional IPTV. The ViBE VS7000 system combines support for all major audio and video codecs and the latest streaming formats including MPEG transport streams, Adobe Flash, Apple Live Streaming, and Microsoft Smooth Streaming; and a video operating system running on IT platforms for native redundancy and scalability with video resolution up to 1920×1080 in progressive and interlaced modes. It is scalable for input channels and output profiles with support for multiple output formats per channel. The ViBE VS7000 also features live broadcast-quality encoding and is optimised for versatility and easy convergent operation; and it provides a flexible way to customise workflow for multiple applications. Thomson believes its advanced video and audio pre-processing, automatic loudness control, centralised web-based operation and SOAP/web services support for external interfacing make the VS7000 a full-featured solution for convergent applications. “Thomson Video Networks conceived the ViBE VS7000 to meet the demand for a convenient, superior picture quality and easily managed high-performance platform for IPTV delivery, web TV streaming, and OTT services broadcasting,” says company president Christophe Delahousse. “It’s a dense system with hot-swappable redundant components, which can scale from a single blade to a fully populated unit to support rapid business growth.”
