BBC Studios and Post Production (BBC S&PP) is providing full production gallery facilities for the live finals of The Voice at Elstree Studios.
Broadcasting live at Elstree, The Voice will take over the Studios’ George Lucas Stage 1, and make use of a purpose-built gallery specifically designed to support large scale TV productions. With direct access onto Stage 1, the production, sound and lighting galleries are equipped with HD technology to handle the demands of the fast turnaround, tapeless production.
“We’re delighted to welcome one of the country’s biggest entertainment series to Elstree,” said Meryl McLaren, commercial manager at BBC S&PP. “To add The Voice to our stable of high calibre primetime entertainment series, such as Strictly Come Dancing, is a real privilege.”
The show’s coaches include musicians and entertainers (pictured, left to right) Ricky Wilson, Sir Tom Jones, will.i.am and Kylie Minogue. During the live finals, contestants perform on live television for the very first time and face the public vote. Every week, the teams lose one artist and, by the final, one artist from each team remains to sing for a chance to be crowned winner of The Voice UK 2014.
