Telekom Austria partners with Agama for satellite TV platform

Telekom Austria Group has selected Agama Technologies as the partner for service quality assurance for the company’s new DTH platform for satellite pay-TV.

Telekom Austria Group has selected Agama Technologies as the partner for service quality assurance for the company’s new DTH platform for satellite pay-TV. Telekom Austria Group’s direct2home product is targeted at broadcasting companies and telecommunication operators in Central and Eastern Europe, a region in the process of digital switchover.

With Telekom Austria’s new direct2home service, broadcasters can deliver content to new markets, and telecommunication companies can enter the pay-TV business via Eutelsat’s 16° East orbital position.

“With our new direct2home services we reach some 75 million households in the CEE region,” said Stefan Amon, director wholesale at Telekom Austria Group. “By partnering with the best system providers on the market we deliver a high quality service portfolio to our potential B2B customers in the broadcast and telecommunications industry. Agama without any doubt was choice number one as partner for the quality assurance of the video signals.”

The Agama DTV Monitoring Solution provides continuous and realtime monitoring and QA of the video delivery chain. It aims to support business processes by managing service quality and customer satisfaction, whilst lowering OPEX and improving customer retention.

“Opportunity enabling offerings to the market, like this, are always exciting. As a long standing partner, we are very proud to be selected by Telekom Austria Group to deliver our solution and expertise to also support its new direct2home product with best-in-class service quality assurance,” added Mikael Dahlgren, CEO at Agama Technologies.
