Tedial has won a contract from Spain’s FORTA, which represents regional broadcasters in the country, to develop a system allowing members to share content though a centralised database.
As well as allowing broadcasters to contribute content to the central service and download material for their own use, the new system will also enable FORTA (The Federaci_n de Organismos de Radio y Television Aut_nomicos) to manage web publishing and online access for other broadcasters. The system embraces the centralised content archive and database, transcoding inputs and outputs to and from the system standard, and most important management of the network.
One of the key reasons for choosing Tedial is that the company has developed its own highly efficient algorithms to manage data transfer over the network topology. The company has invested heavily in research to ensure the optimal use of the available bandwidth, managing priorities to ensure that critical content is moved as quickly as possible.

Development work on the system is already under way. The contract also includes training in the use of the new network and continuing support for three years.
