T-VIPS CP524 is ‘pain-free’ TS adapter

The new CP524 transport stream adapter from T-VIPS will enable operators to flexibly repackage and deliver video content to multiple end points, including television contribution and distribution services. The CP524 will be launched at IBC and support multi-stream (any input to any output), re-multiplexing, and flexible format conversion.

The unit’s filtering and re-multiplexing features should enable operators to save valuable bandwidth. Pre-production models have been successfully tested at operators’ sites and the product is now ready to ship. “The CP524 TS Adapter provides a single-box solution that takes the pain out of re-multiplexing and filtering, and mixing and matching services from multiple inputs to multiple outputs,” said T-VIPS’ CEO, Johnny Dolvik (pictured). “As well as the re-multiplexing functionality we’ve also included extra features such as interface conversion, advanced IP processing, redundancy, monitoring and PSI/SI/PSIP handling, making this an incredibly powerful solution. For many operators and service providers our CP524 is the only MPEG-2 TS solution they will need and since it’s a single unit it reduces running costs and space requirements too.” The variety of network infrastructures used in the broadcast industry today has led to increasing demand for network adaption and conversion between formats and interfaces. The CP524 is claimed to solve these issues, for up to four transport streams, by offering powerful network adaption between ASI, IP, SONET/SDH and SMPTE 310. In addition to providing conversion between interfaces, the CP524 provides powerful TS processing capabilities that should be easy to use and configure. The CP524 is also equipped with reliability features such as hitless switching with diversity reception, service fall back and T-VIPS Embedded Redundancy Control to ensure 100% uptime even in the case of severe packet or link loss. The CP524 is part of T-VIPS’ cProcessor toolbox, which makes TS processing simple and delivers flexible, cost-effective interfacing to broadcast and IP-based networks. The CP524 gives operators the capability to process, tailor and distribute signals according to their own needs. www.t-vips.com By David Fox
