T-Mobile Netherlands has selected Ericsson to power its Knippr, its new OTT service.
The multi-year deal will see Ericsson provide an end-to-end online video service, covering content management, digital rights management and content delivery networks.
Knippr launched last month, designed to deliver the ‘ultimate freedom of choice’, and is available via web browser, tablet and smartphone both live and on-demand.
“Today’s consumers want to have control over the services and content that they purchase and pay for,” said Knippr vice-president, Johan Trouwborst.
“With the technology and knowledge of Ericsson, we have been able to introduce an innovative TV service that allows consumers to have access to the best ‘a la carte’ TV content possible.”
