Sky One’s biggest drama set for HD

Sky One and RHI Entertainment's commission of Terry Pratchett's best-selling fantasy fiction novel, Hogfather, is to be shot at 3 Mills Studios and nearby locations in London - Sky One's biggest drama commission to date and the first to be shot on HD.

Sky One and RHI Entertainment’s commission of Terry Pratchett’s best-selling fantasy fiction novel, Hogfather, is to be shot at 3 Mills Studios and nearby locations in London – Sky One’s biggest drama commission to date and the first to be shot on HD.

Production on the 2 x 120″ HD television feature has commenced and principal photography is due to start at 3 Mills Studios in April. The film stars David Jason (Only Fools and Horses, A Touch of Frost, The Darling Buds of May) as Albert and other UK and US talent to be confirmed. Hogfather is directed by Vadim Jean (Leon the Pig Farmer) and produced by Rod Brown (Dream Team, Goal) and Ian Sharples (The Virgin of Liverpool). Elaine Pyke, Commissioning Editor Sky One will executive produce for Sky One and Robert Halmi Sr (Dinotopia) is the executive producer for RHI Entertainment. Hogfather is produced by The Mob Film Company.

The production of Hogfather marks the first ever live action/CGI film of Discworld and its characters. It is set in a quasi-medieval Dickensian society that lives on a giant 10,000 mile diameter flat disc called Discworld that floats through space atop four elephants. Hogfather is scheduled for transmission on Sky One for Christmas 2006.
