Sky Deutschland to broadcast Formula One in UHD

Coverage begins with this weekend's Belgian Grand Prix

Sky Deutschland will broadcast its coverage of this weekend’s Belgium Grand Prix in Ultra HD for the first time.

The format will be available to viewers in Germany and Austria.

The native Ultra HD signal produced by Sky UK will be available from all qualification rounds and races of the remaining nine Grand Prix weekends with the exception of the qualification for the race in Mexico.

Sky Deutschland launched its own Ultra HD offering in October 2016 and subsequently shown matches from the Bundesliga and UEFA Champions League in UHD.

Roman Steur, executive vice president, sports, Sky Deutschland, said: “By working with our colleagues at Sky UK, our viewers in Germany and Austria will be able to enjoy ultra-high-resolution images from the royal class of motorsports. Premium content and innovative technology guarantee our customers the best sports in the best picture quality.”
