Sky Creative builds first virtual studio for Sky News

Sky Creative team has also created a brand new programme identity and comprehensive graphics package for the show

Sky Creative’s News Design team has used Unreal Engine to create the first virtual studio for Sky News.

The studio, which is being used for Sky News’ The Daily Climate Show, is a digital overlay set against the backdrop of the central atrium at the hub building in Sky’s Osterley campus.

The Sky Creative team has also created a brand new programme identity and comprehensive graphics package for the show.

Sky Creative News Design team’s creative director, Harry Ward said;We have created fresh new programme identity, studio and graphics package, built around ever-changing data and statistics designed to highlight the immediacy of the global warming problem.”

“It’s great that Sky News shared our drive and ambition to deliver a fantastic new virtual studio and for such an important topic, they backed us by upgrading their current virtual studio to Unreal, which gave us the opportunity to push the boundaries and create an amazing space,” added Sky Creative’s creative director, Innovation, Jason Landau. “The team also worked closely with Sky’s Graphics and Data team to deliver the engaging live data, which is used within the broadcast design and virtual studio.”
