“Scopus is being chosen for innovative digital initiatives taking place in the North American broadcast market today,” said Carlo Basile, president of Scopus Video Networks’ US operations. “We’re excited to be part of the booming digital growth phase that the global broadcast market is experiencing, and look forward to continue supporting broadcasters future visions with our leading-edge products and solutions.”

The Scopus IRD-2980C addresses the specific requirements for the distribution of digital syndicated programming over satellite. The versatile receiver platform integrates a satellite front end, an MPEG-2 4:2:0 and 4:2:2 professional decoding and an IP interface capable of providing high-speed IP data in a 1RU box. In addition, it provides a rich selection of analogue and digital output interfaces as well as VBI processing. The unit’s graphical front panel display allows easy control of the rich set of supported features. It can also be remotely controlled via a web-based interface and supports SNMP.
