German production company rt1.tv has added the HD-DSNG 6 (pictured) to its fleet of HD OB units. German systems integrator Wellen+Nöthen designed the 8+2 camera truck, which, based on the Mercedes-Benz Axor 1829, weighs 18 tonnes and is 9.45 metres long. A Lawo mc²56 was chosen as the central audio mixing console for the truck. The mc²56 provides 32 faders and two DSP boards with 96 DSP channels. The router offers a maximum capacity of 8,192 x 8,192 crosspoints. Three DALLIS frames are available plus a Dolby encoder and decoder (571 and 572) and a Virtual Studio Manager (VSM) controller. There are seven workspaces onboard the truck, including uplink, video processing, scheduling, a VTR suite, an audio control room, a video control room and an editorial suite. – Jake Youngwww.lawo.de
