Ross Video powers ServusTV’s new facility

"This was a real opportunity for us to challenge the various manufacturers and vendors in live news production and say ‘show us your best’," said the broadcaster's service director

Austrian broadcaster ServusTV has launched its new flagship facility with a backbone provided by Ross Media.

Work has now been completed on the build, which was first announced at NAB 2018.

The new facility includes numerous examples of Ross Video technology, including Carbonite production switchers, XPression graphics and maps, the XPression Tessera graphics rendering solution, Furio camera motion systems, the Inception News newsroom computer system, Tria News server, Streamline media asset management system, Ultritouch facility monitoring and control panels, and OverDrive – the company’s automation system.

“When we first met Ross, we were primarily looking at updating our newsroom computer system,” said ServusTV service director, Philipp Stoegner. “We looked at Inception – the only web-based newsroom solution at the time – and we were very impressed. As the scope of the project grew, so our discussions with Ross intensified, and I was consistently impressed by the openness of the Ross team

“We wanted to build a new flagship facility for ServusTV that that would allow us to do outstanding productions and design cutting-edge and future-proof workflows. This was a real opportunity for us to challenge the various manufacturers and vendors in live news production and say ‘show us your best’. Having gone through that process, Ross came off as the clear winner which resulted in the significant Ross installation we see today.”
