Germany-based RecordLab has equipped its first OB van with solutions by Grass Valley. RecordLab will be working with local Grass Valley partner Wellen+Nöthen from planning to technical systems integration for its new van. Equipment includes a Karrera Video Production Center switcher with a 2 M/E and 3 M/E control panel, in a 256X512 chassis and a LDK 8300 Live Super SloMo Camera for live productions.

“Grass Valley offers a one-stop-shop for live production and enables us to kit out our new OB van from top to bottom with great quality solutions,” said Markus Maschke, RecordLab. “Grass Valley’s experience and expertise in the broadcast market, along with its flexible and future-proofed products, means we can have complete confidence in our new OB van delivering high-quality content.”

The OB van features a Karrera Video Production Center with K-Frame, which delivers a modular approach to production switchers. It includes a touchscreen side panel interface and full 3G 1080p50/60 HD support, and uses 50% less power than other switchers of its kind.

The van has also been supplied with a Trinix NXT, which eliminates the need for secondary external components and connections, providing operators with a 3G multiviewer solution. The LDK 8300 camera switches between 1X, 2X, and 3X speeds as well as between 1080i and 720p formats, making it suited to live events.

“Germany is an important market for Grass Valley and we’re really excited to be making today’s announcement with RecordLab,” said Said Bacho, senior vice president EMEA, Grass Valley. “In today’s extremely competitive TV market, it’s more important than ever to provide viewers with faultless services, and RecordLab’s new OB van will allow the company to broadcast first-rate services so that German viewers can enjoy coverage from live events as and when they happen.”
