Germany-based Astra Platform Services (APS) has selected PubliTronic to provide its integrated playout technology for complex broadcast projects.
PubliTronic’s NEXUS playout servers are said to offer a high degree of flexibility and functionality, allowing greater integration and a simplified workflow. The solution from PubliTronic is particularly appropriate for customers with more demanding channel set-ups, such as replicating SD content in HD. For example, the Simulcast feature enables SD and HD channel formats to be controlled simultaneously through a single playout while allowing both channels to be tailored independently according to individual requirements.
Stefan Hennecke, chief operating officer at APS, commented: “We recognised the need to include integrated playout in our portfolio – the benefits of this technology speak for themselves and we consistently strive to match the needs of our customers with first class technologies. We selected PubliTronic’s integrated playout offering as they are widely recognised as being at the forefront of this technology, and they are now an important partner in developing how we perform playout services.”
Harold Vermeulen, founder and managing director of PubliTronic, added: “At present, the integrated solution is ideal for broadcasters with technically challenging projects, but in the future it should underpin all playout. It is great to be working with such a renowned company as APS in what we see as a long-term partnership.”
Moving forwards, APS will also be looking to offer PubliTronic’s Channel Director design software.
