At this week’s BVE, PHABRIX announced several new enhancements and innovations across its Sx handheld and Rx rack mount test and measurement instruments.

PHABRIX has started shipping its new handheld TAG, capable of testing most broadcast infrastructures. The TAG comes complete as an analyser/monitor with support for SD and HD formats. A software option can be purchased to add 3G, a generator or optical support. The TAG has an audio toolset including full support for metadata, levels and logging of Dolby E, D and D Plus.

The company has also been working on its Rx rack mount monitoring system. Comprising the dual integral screen 2U Rx 2000, the 1U Rx 1000 and the demi Rx 500, the Rx instruments can be configured with modules offering the user a choice in monitoring capability. With 1920×1080 output via HDMI or SDI, the Rx range provides a multi-viewer type display of 16 instruments per channel.

At BVE PHABRIX previewed its new V9 upgrade due for release end of March 2014. Prominent at the show were high resolution waveforms and video gamut display, with PHABRIX’s new full screen waveforms featuring 1920×1080 display.

Other new features in the Rx rack mount toolset include multi-channel closed caption display – 608/708 and OP47. Audio capabilities within the Rx toolset provide a single box solution for both audio/video monitoring with new lissajous, Loudness and Dolby E, D and D Plus support on display. Full Dolby decode is also available with the provision of a new audio module which can be bundled with a 4AES module.

“BVE was an exceptional show for us this year. It was gratifying that so many of our loyal UK customers came to visit the stand to see the TAG and the enhancements to the Rx,” said Paul Nicholls, sales and marketing director. “We’re certainly on a roll leading up to NAB and we hope to have a few more surprises to share in April.”
