FlyingS3D, a new post production facility dedicated to stereoscopic 3D, has opened in Paris. The outfit is equipped with a Quantel Pablo 4k plus Stereo3D option and is run by DI and post operator Audrey Bourdiol.

“Quantel Pablo was the natural choice because as well as being a fine colour correction system, it also offers full conforming, editing, compositing, effects, versioning and deliverables within a single system,” confirms Bourdiol. “That makes it a natural hub for our workflow, avoiding the time and cost wasted in moving material around between two or more systems for most of the work we need to do.

“FlyingS3D offers a complete workflow dedicated to stereoscopic 3D,” she adds. “We provide a full set of services for the manufacturing of 3D digital content from development to distribution including all necessary steps from editing and conform, to effects, titling, grade and the final master.”

FlyingS3D features a 3D viewing theatre equipped with a Christie projector, two Avid 3D offline systems and Quantel’s soft-Sam option which media integration with third party systems. The whole facility is built on a 10Gbps infrastructure.
