Panasonic previews NAB presence

The Panasonic booth will include the 2/3-type, three-chip AJ-PX5000G AVC-ULTRA P2 HD camcorder; AVC-ULTRA plug-ins for Avid, wireless editing playlist and live uplink solutions; and the AJ-PD500 P2 half-rack recorder.

Panasonic Professional Camera Solutions has revealed what to expect from the company at the NAB Show. The Panasonic booth will include the 2/3-type, three-chip AJ-PX5000G AVC-ULTRA P2 HD camcorder; AVC-ULTRA plug-ins for Avid, wireless editing playlist and live uplink solutions; and the AJ-PD500 P2 half-rack recorder. The AJ-PX5000G is Panasonic’s first P2 HD camcorder with native AVC-ULTRA recording and built-in microP2 card slots. The 2.2M 3-MOS camera features 720p and 1080p/i recording, as well as 1080/50p recording. The PX5000G’s three 2.2M pixel MOS sensors deliver a horizontal resolution of 1000 TV lines and sensitivity of F13 over 50i. The PX5000 can record in AVC-LongG and AVC-Intra100/50 as standard. Panasonic will also reveal additional support for connectivity across the workflow, including AVC-ULTRA plug-ins for Avid Media Composer 6.5, both Mac and Windows versions, the introduction of wireless playlist editing and live uplink solutions for partners. The latest Avid software development kit facilitates comprehensive workflow tools for the AVC-ULTRA codec family, including AVC-Proxy, AVC-Intra and AVC-LongG. AJ-PS001 activates the AVC-Proxy Re-Link feature, which enables the user to import AVC-Proxy and edit natively; edit sequence are re-linked to corresponding high-res clips automatically. AJ-PS002 activates AVC-Intra Export feature, which enables the user to export AVC-Intra 100/50 clips. AJ-PS003 activates AVC-LongG Export, with a choice of four file sizes ranging from 6Mbps to 50Mbps. AJ-PS004 activates AVC-LongG Import, which enables the user to import P2 AVC-LongG clips and edit them natively on the timeline, enabling seamless integration between AVC-ULTRA camcorders and Avid Media Composer. Additionally, the AJ-PD500 will be revealed, Panasonic’s first P2 HD recorder with native AVC-ULTRA recording and built-in microP2 card slots.
