Nvidia expands Holoscan for Media with production capabilities

The unified platform covers live media applications including, AI captioning, live graphics, vision mixing, playout server, encode, decode, transcode, multiviewer and Networked Media Open Specifications (NMOS) controller

Nvidia’s software-defined platform that enables developers to easily build live media applications with artificial intelligence (AI) and then deploy them across media platforms has been expanded to include live media and video pipelines.

Holoscan for Media enables live media and video pipelines to run on the same infrastructure as AI, enabling companies to use applications from an ecosystem of developers on repurposable, Nvidia-accelerated, commercial off-the-shelf hardware to enhance production and delivery, said the company.

The unified platform covers live media applications including, AI captioning, live graphics, vision mixing, playout server, encode, decode, transcode, multiviewer and Networked Media Open Specifications (NMOS) controller.

It has been built on SMPTE ST 2110, and common application programming interfaces, and includes Precision Time Protocol, aka PTP, and NMOS for interoperability and manageability, said the company.

Companies including Beamr, Harmonic, Pebble, Qvest, RAVEL, RT Software, Speechmatics and Spicy Mango have already signed up as partners for the platform.
