Nordisk accelerates with Clipster

Nordisk Film ShortCut has moved rapidly to install three DVS Clipster mastering devices, two in Copenhagen and one in Oslo. The company is the post production wing of Nordisk Film, founded in 1906 and probably the oldest film company in the world.
 With a rapid rise in digital cinema installations in Norway, Nordisk needed to be able to deliver DCP-compliant files, and to add this capability to its workflow rapidly. Because of its open interfaces, the DVS Clipster digital intermediate workstation connects seamlessly into the existing system architecture, and significantly boosts the speed of post production. It handles raw files from Red and Arri Alexa cameras in real time.
 Completed movies are output as encrypted packages, with Clipster handling all the steps of the mastering process from the DSM (digital source master) to the DCP (digital cinema package) in a single system, eliminating the need to transfer data between devices. Key technical parameters can be checked in the DCP within the Clipster too, allowing quality checks and customer acceptance to be carried out quickly and reliably.
