Automation and content management specialist Pebble Beach Systems has released details of the installation of its Deckchair system at Prime News, the new regional news channel in India serving the North East province of Assam from a headquarters in Guwahati.
Launching at the end of May, Prime News Guwahati offers a round-the-clock news service to a potential audience of more than 30 million. The technical infrastructure features a Pebble Beach Systems Deckchair automation system, interfaced to an Omneon Media Deck server and with OCTOPUS6 newsroom automation software via Deckchair’s MOS interface. The OCTOPUS6 system installed at Prime is configured to serve up to ten concurrent users, and incorporates both English and Assamese language versions.
“Pebble Beach Systems are known as a reputable company with proven automation solutions, and particularly for their excellent after-sales support,” said a Visual Technologies spokesperson, explaining the choice of automation equipment.
The installation – which saw the channel work in close conjunction with integrator Visual Technologies India – was completed in a mere nine days.

The first news studio also features a Hitachi HD camera system, ROSS switcher and router, and graphics from WASP 3D. A second news studio is planned for next month.
