P+S Technik will reveal its three new Weisscam HS-2 MKII application upgrade modules at NAB which are designed to provide excellent image quality at both normal and high speed rates as well as maximum flexibility for rental companies. The German manufacturer has developed three software-based application upgrade modules. Film Mode Module is said to provide enhanced ‘ultimate image quality’ and its features include reduced readout noise; an increased dynamic range; and 30% better signal performance, especially on lower frame rates. Studio Mode Module allows for the integration of the Weisscam HS-2 MKII directly into studio environments, providing RAW support for external IT recording devices such as workstations in studios via GigE. It also features HD preview possibility via HDSDI (on a monitor); and HD recording possibility via HSDSI (on an external HD-SDI recorder). Rental Mode Module raises the rent-out efficiency of the camera. Rental companies will be able to rent out the HS-2 MKII for different daily or weekly charges as the module will provides different sets of features for different applications. Customers can choose from three different presets: fiction (up to 500fps), commercial (up to 4400fps), and TV dramas (up to 120fps). Each preset provides up to 2K resolution as well as RAW & HD workflow options. Booth C9748
