NDR OBs take MOG into Avid

Norddeutscher Rundfunk has selected MOG's mxfSpeedRail to equip production OB vans for SD and HD video capture and for file-based ingest.

Norddeutscher Rundfunk has selected MOG’s mxfSpeedRail to equip production OB vans for SD and HD video capture and for file-based ingest.

The NDR team will use the mxfSpeedRail solution in its live event operations. The vans debut this month and will be used in daily sports and news coverage.

mxfSpeedRail S1000 will allow NDR OB vans to record SD-SDI or HD-SDI signals into Avid’s editor storage and to edit the created files while the recording is still happening. The ability to edit while recording or ingesting to non-Interplay environments was decisive for NDR in choosing mxfSpeedRail.

“This deal with NDR marks the debut of mxfSpeedRail in OB van productions,” said Vitor Teixeira, MOG sales director. “It offers a highly compact solution unmatchable in the market.”

mxfSpeedRail is a server-based system that targets ingest material in post production environments allowing total control on the ingest and capture over a web browser or through web services. It takes as input both file-based content as well as SD-SDI and HD-SDI feeds. mxfSPEEDRAIL is more than a general ingest server, it is a scalable networked innovative solution, built on state-of-the-art IT technology for multimedia — an ideal solution for OB Vans and studio production.
