Molotov and Samsung announce partnership

Molotov and Samsung Electronics France have announced a partnership to make the OTT service available across the entire Samsung product range

Molotov and Samsung Electronics France have announced a partnership to make the OTT service available across the entire Samsung product range.

The TV distribution platform, created by Jean-David Blanc and Pierre Lescure, will officially launch its service in early 2016.

It will become available across the Samsung product range sold in France – smart TVs, tablets and mobiles – as well as a specific product designed exclusively for the Gear S2 watch platform.

Samsung Electronics France will be demonstrating Molotov’s new service at various trade and consumer shows, as well as at points of sale and other demonstration sites.

“Consumers expect high technological performance from a leading brand but also – and increasingly – new uses and multi-screen content, available at any time,” said David Eberlé, president of Samsung Electronics France.

Molotov enables users to access live TV and catch-up from any device. ‘Bookmarking’ – a combination of advance recording function, information and notifications – is available with search functionality possible by programme type, channel, or by director, presenter or actor. In addition, users can share their television experiences via social media.

Jean-David Blanc, CEO of Molotov, said, “We are very pleased to form a partnership with the leader in consumer electronics, enabling Molotov to boost its expansion and its reputation with the entire client and prospect base of this great brand, Samsung. We are also very excited to see the first reactions to the product which we have designed exclusively for the Gear S2 watch.”
