Omneon has licensed the MOG Solutions MXF development toolkit in order to integrate MXF capabilities into the company’s high-performance transcoding system, ProXchange.

The integration of MOG Solutions’ development tools with ProXchange enables Omneon to have a comprehensive, industry-standard solution able to transcode multiple MXF flavours in an efficient and cost-effective way.

MOG tools’ support for multiple essence types and enhanced metadata capabilities allows Omneon to capitalise on state-of-the-art technology to enhance Omneon’s MXF support in ProXchange. By integrating MOG Solutions’ MXF technology into the ProXchange system, Omneon will offer its clients access to a full range of functions from creation to the manipulation of MXF Files and associated metadata. The Omneon ProXchange version 1.4 already includes a number of new features that make use of MOG MXF tools.

Omneon ProXchange is a high-performance transcoding system specifically designed for high-volume multiformat media environments. As the first application to take advantage of the combined storage and processing architecture of Omneon MediaGrid, ProXchange delivers grid-based transcoding of media files stored within Omneon MediaGrid.

“This project is in fact the result of a long-term partnership with Omneon and we are proud that they have relied on MOG tools to encompass the challenge of an enhanced MXF support,” said Vitor Teixeira, MOG Solutions’ sales manager. “MOG Solutions MXF tools presented itself as the best MXF software capable to meet the highly demanding quality requirements for Omneon products, proving once again that MOG Solutions is the leading provider of MXF technology.”

“Our use of market-tested technology from MOG enables us to extend our MXF support and ensures that we can offer increased interoperability to our customers,” said Geoff Stedman, senior vice president of marketing and business development.
