Miranda debuts router/control enhancements and more

Miranda Technologies launched its new NVISION 920 router controller, and an upgraded NVISION 8140 router at IBC2012. Miranda’s NV8140 router (pictured) supports hybrid audio/video routing with standard coax or fibre connectivity via a rectangular 144x288 matrix, housed in 8RU.

Miranda Technologies launched its new NVISION 920 router controller, and an upgraded NVISION 8140 router at IBC2012. The NV920 is designed to control Miranda and third-party routers in space-constrained broadcast applications, and includes redundant power supplies, front service capability and configuration options. Miranda’s NV8140 router (pictured) supports hybrid audio/video routing with standard coax or fibre connectivity via a rectangular 144×288 matrix, housed in 8RU. It includes crosspoint redundancy that protects all signal paths, including multiviewer outputs. The device supports 3Gbps, HD, SD, DVB-ASI, integrated audio processing and CWDM. Miranda has also installed its iControl content monitoring and control platform at Encompass Digital Media Limited (EDML) in London. iControl enables operators to review the status of their entire facility and detect, diagnose and initiate repair of any problems that arise. The solution is operated via iControl GUI touch screens, which provide configurable alternate views to any one of four operational, or two engineering, positions to monitor and control channels running through the facility’s multiple transmission chains. Audio is a significant component for EDML as its plays out multi-language and subtitling services, also monitored and controlled with iControl. EDML uses Miranda’s Densité LGK cards, a channel branding processor that provides iControl GUIs with a thumbnail view of all content passing through the system. Miranda also partnered with Cognacq-Jay Image (CJI) to provide a monitoring and control system, which enables the Paris-based company to monitor and control broadcast playout for 20 linear channels with a system comprised of Miranda’s iControl Playout Manager, Kaleido-X multiviewers, Densité modular cards, NVISION routers and fingerprint media identification technology.www.miranda.com
