Mediapro employs latest technology for El Clásico

Match coverage will include sound technology that tracks the ball and activates microphones

Mediapro is employing a range of new technologies during its broadcast of this weekend’s El Clásico – the LaLiga clash between Barcelona and Real Madrid.

The broadcaster will have 30 UHD cameras covering the match, enabling it to broadcast the game in 4K UHD.

In addition, 38 5K cameras will be located all over the Camp Nu, enabling 360-degree video replays, which will offer unique shots from anywhere on the pitch, including the chance to take in the action from the players’ perspective, thanks to Mediapro’s Be The Player feature.

Coverage of El Clásico will also include immersive sound technology for the first time. Mediapro’s technology locates the ball through automatic tracking and activates the microphones in the vicinity, enabling fans can to what is happening on the pitch.

There will also be an aerial camera positioned 21 metres above the pitch, offering an unique perspective of the game.
