MediaPower has used this week’s BroadcastAsia event to announce that its MAM-in-a-box Arkki product is now available in a Pro version. The new Arkki Pro includes more robust and advanced video transcoding, editing, and sharing features, the company claims.
MediaPower Arkki is a media manager application which gives content providers to store, catalogue, retrieve and manage thousands of videos, images, and documents, in a 64TB appliance. Its search engine features a rough-cut and sub-clip generation facility that enables users to upload content from anywhere, and to find content in Google/YouTube-style search and preview. Arkki also features workspace customisation and system utilisation monitoring, accessible via a customisable web interface.
Arkki launched in 2013, and the Pro version now includes additional features such as an embedded transcoding engine that allows uploaded videos to be transcoded or converted to other formats; automatic content upload through local or NAS connected watch folders; video editing features that allow merging of different clips, ingesting/upload of edited clips as new content, or exporting video frames as images or photos; and sharing videos externally over the internet.
“Most MAM solutions are difficult or too expensive to implement,” said MediaPower CEO Marcello Dellepiane. “It is this realisation that MediaPower pursues further development of its MAM solutions in order to allow many other organisations to realise the benefits of a well-organised and searchable media collection.”
