Marquis Broadcast, specialist in content workflows and media integration software, has agreed a strategic partnership with Quantel. The collaboration should make it easier to develop and integrate workflows with third-party editing, server and archive platforms. Quantel recently launched sQ Fileflow, an application for its enterprise media systems. Fileflow includes a Restful API, which allows it to be managed as part of a service oriented architecture. Marquis has employed this in its Medway interoperability engine, enabling third-party systems to freely exchange content with Enterprise sQ.Medway is designed as a development tool to provide technical and operations workflows. These optimise and integrate media transfers, format conversion and transcoding, and metadata capture and integration. “Marquis Broadcast staff are experts in file-based workflows, and sQ Fileflow lets them easily include content on Enterprise sQ systems,” said Steve Owen, Quantel’s marketing director. “We look forward to working closely with them to help our customers achieve enterprise-wide workflow integration.” Chris Steele of Marquis added “The advantages of Medway in delivering high levels of integration, while providing a simple highway to move media, is providing particularly popular. At IBC we received unprecedented interest in Medway and were able to develop discussions further with a number of other leading organisations in the editing, video service, archive, automation and asset management spaces. We are excited about developing some new workflow solutions that will be launched in the near future.”
