JVC’s IBC line up includes a shipping version of its 3D camcorder which will be priced £1660. Also on show in Amsterdam will be the company’s 4K chip for high-speed processing. Fundamentally JVC’s IBC product showing is the same as that aired at NAB, although this time the GYHMZ1 is in shipping mode (www.tvbeurope.com/main-content/full/jvc-debuts-pro-3d-camcorder;jsessionid=2810B12932618948BFCBA639CD188711). “The camcorder has full resolution sensors for each eye,” said JVC’s UK sales manager John Kelly. “In tests we’ve done on image quality we are very confident of its class and believe we have a very strong product.” There are no plans to introduce a shoulder mounted 3D camcorder as yet, said Kelly. In other demonstrations JVC will show significant upgrades to its IF2D 3D1 image processor which is capable now of controlling positive and negative parallax. “In terms of display it’s again about translating the products we talked about at NAB into physically shipping product,” he said. These include the first units of a 24-inch production monitor DT-3D24G1and a new 32-inch monitor for more general purpose professional display. JVC’s prototype 4K camcorder, which uses the large-scale integration (LSI) chip for high-speed processing, will also be demonstrated as a feature of future JVC camcorders (see www.tvbeurope.com/main-content/full/jvc-and-panasonic-reveal-4k-roadmaps). “Before NAB I would have guessed there would not be a significant market for 4K camcorder but the feedback has been really positive in terms of form factor. We are still studying the market and researching the core technology that underpins 4K image processing.” JVC’s ProHD tapeless camcorder range includes the shoulder-mount GY-HM750, with simultaneous recording to two SDHC cards for an instant backup or client copy, and the versatile GY-HM790 camera, with its innovative design that provides exceptional performance in both studio and ENG applications. The GY-HM790 will also be shown with the FS-790 optical fibre solution, suitable for broadcast, OB and live events.
