Jellyfish Pictures opens Sheffield studio

Operates in a PC-over-IP environment with all tech housed off-site

Jellyfish Pictures has announced the opening of a new facility in Sheffield, situated in the city centre within the Wizu Workspace.

The company said it outgrew its previous location having expanded into the North of England less than a year ago.

The new studio will house the animation team, which has apparently more than doubled in size over the past three months.

No hardware is housed on-site in the new Sheffield studio, operating in a PC-over-IP environment with all tech housed in Hayes.

The studio is able to virtualise its distributed workstations through Teradici’s remote visualisation solution.

“None of this would have been able to happen without Jellyfish Pictures’ continued investment in pushing the boundaries of virtual technologies,” said Jellyfish Pictures CEO Phil Dobree. “The ability to ramp up as needed and easily move to a bigger facility has been of invaluable worth. Casting off the constraints of our on-premise infrastructure has allowed us to not only remain agile and scalable when taking on projects, but also allows us to put talent first.”
