It’s A Sin, We Are Lady Parts lead RTS Craft & Design Award winners

ITV's I'm A Celebrity picked up a special award in recognition of production being forced to move from Australia to the UK during the pandemic

Channel 4 programmes It’s A Sin and We Are Lady Parts both took home three prizes each at the RTS Craft & Design Awards.

It’s A Sin picked up the awards for director – drama, editing – drama, and production design – drama; We Are Lady Parts won the awards for production design – entertainment & non-drama, make up design – entertainment & non-drama, and editing – entertainment and comedy.

The BBC picked up the most awards on the night, taking home 11, the outstanding achievement award was presented to Sally Debonnaire, global director of production at ITV Studios.

The RTS special award was presented to ITV for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! According to the judges, the show adapted quickly to the changes required bu the pandemic, “Three months behind schedule, the move came with countless challenges for all departments, rebuilding this established show from scratch,” said the judges.

“The castle – which was initially un-surveyed and deemed an unsafe working environment – was transformed, with every floor and roof either reinstated or completely reconstructed. A huge undertaking for any team, let alone a team that had never worked on the show before: a big risk – but it worked.”
