Deluxe Entertainment Services Group division itfc has selected SysMedia’s WinCAPS Qu4ntum subtitling software and Link Electronics’ HD SD SDI Closed Caption Encoder for use at its West London offices.
Qu4ntum’s assisted subtitling tools are being used to bring new efficiencies to pre-recorded subtitling at itfc; the benefits will soon be extended to live work. Meanwhile, the HD Closed Caption Encoder will help itfc to meet the increased client demand for HD closed captioning.
Claude Le Guyader (pictured), business development manager at itfc, commented: “We want to make sure we have the equipment necessary to deliver all aspects of subtitling and captioning in order to meet demand from current and future clients. We have been offering SD and open captioning for many years, and HD is fast becoming the norm for broadcast. Our sister companies within the Deluxe group also produce deliverables for the US, and as such it made sense for itfc to purchase the Link Caption Encoder.
“In addition, the results we’ve seen from the Qu4ntum subtitling software have already helped us improve our workflow and productivity. On some programming, the reduction in time to complete subtitles has been halved since it was installed. And we have not yet explored all the possibilities.”
